The Max-Light Cartridge Test Cell is recommended to be used for several tests instead of the Max-Light Cartridge Cell (10 mm, V( σ) = 1 µL) or the Max-Light Cartridge Cell (60 mm, V( σ) = 4 µL) because it allows running the test(s) without any influence of the rest of the system (degasser, pump, sampler and others).
The results of the test cell are comparable with the Max-Light Cartridge Cell (10 mm, V( σ) = 1 µL) filled with water, e.g. Intensity Profile. Only the Absorbance value is higher on the Max-Light Cartridge Cell.
If the profile of the Max-Light Cartridge Cell differs in the low UV range, then absorbing solvents are in the cell and should be flushed out. See also Clean the Max-Light Cartridge Cell.
NOTE
When using the Max-Light Cartridge Cell for tests/calibrations, it should be run at 0.5 mL/min constant flow with water. This assures that the light path is always flushed.
Below table gives an idea on the signal height variation of the Max-Light Cartridge Cells compared to Max-Light Cartridge Test Cell.
