In the Instrument Control Dashboard select Level Sensing Assignment to assign the solvent channels, to specify the amount of liquid in the solvent bottles, and to define the actions taken in the event of depleting solvent levels.
The Level Sensing Assignment window (Level Sensing Assignment) shows the bottle position layout in the Level Sensing module, the module Type ID and the Serial Number. Bottle positions are numbered consecutively from front to back for the left (L1, L2, L3) and right side (R1, R2, R3) of the module. To view or modify the bottle parameters, click on the corresponding bottle position.
For each Level Sensing module configured in the LC stack, a new tab is created and named in ascending order (LS-1, LS-2 ...).
For each bottle position, the following parameters are displayed:
Position
Limits
Position:
Channel Assignment
Select the channel from the dropdown list. Parameter settings for the assigned channel override the settings for the bottle in the Bottle Fillings dialog box.
Solvent Name
Enter a name (will not be evaluated).
Actual Volume
Specify the amount of the solvent currently in the solvent bottle (in liters). The maximum value is the Bottle Volume. No direct measurement of the levels in the solvent bottles is done, the remaining solvent volume is calculated by the amount of solvent used, the weight, and the Actual Volume setting.
Bottle Volume
Specify the capacity of the solvent bottle (in liters).
Solvent changed
Mark this check box if the solvent type is changed. A change in density affects the calculation of the solvent level.
Limits:
Prevent analysis if level falls below limit
If this check box is marked and a limit is specified, the module assigned to Level Sensing generates a Not Ready condition if the calculated solvent bottle filling level falls below the set threshold. The current is completed but the sequence/worklist will not continue with the next analysis.
Turn pump off if running out of solvent
If this check box is marked and a limit is specified, the module assigned to Level Sensing generates an error if the calculated solvent bottle filling level is equal to zero. The error is recorded in the activity log, the analysis is stopped immediately, and the pump is switched off.
